Ozsu Seafood is an aquaculture company which was founded by Semsi KAVALAR and Hasan TAYGAN in 2004 with an annual capacity of 60 tons/year
of sea bream and sea bass in Balikliova-Karaburun, IZMIR. By the end of the first year with having some sea farms in Sigacik Bay, the
company has the capacity of 1.200 tons/year. Hereafter with new investments, the company aims at to be permanent and innovative. Today,
the company produces 1,850 tons/year sea bream and sea bass in Sigacik Bay/IZMIR. The company has 20 employees now. There are 5 Aquaculture
Engineers (2 R&D Engineer), 1 Aqauculture Technician, 2 Captains and 12 labourers. The company is certificated of ISO 9001:2000
Quality Management Systems since 2008. Fish which are produced and processed at the plants are exported mainly to European Union.
All the same, Ozsu Seafood has become an environmentalist, innovative with R&D activities and aims to produce healthy fish to the consumers.
has finished his BSc. degree in Istanbul University Faculty of Fisheries and Aquaculture
in 1995. His experience in Aquaculture sector is 12 years. For 4 years, he has been responsible for all the coordination of the production.
The other researcher Serif KALKANLI is graduated from «ukurova University Faculty of Fisheries and Aquaculture in 2000. He worked 9 years in
this sector and he is responsible for the nursery of fry.
